And just like that, we’re back on American soil! If you’re reading this blog, you know that I’m not necessarily one to get sentimental about being back, but there is something weirdly special about landing in the States after time abroad and hearing the immigration agent say, “Welcome home.”
Since we landed in LA, we decided to make the most out of it and turn it into a mini trip. I’ve fallen in love with California and we hadn’t spent much time there together. We have some friends who live up north and graciously let us stay with them (and their pet pig!!!) for a couple of nights.
I had one thing on my must do list for LA: Griffith Observatory. The only day we had to go up there turned out to be so cloudy and dreary and the observatory was closed (they don’t open until noon?!) but it was still a good time.
Even with the clouds, there were great views of the Hollywood sign and the perfect place for space geeks like me!
I’ll admit, I feel in love with California over our two short trips out there, so I feel confident we’ll be going back, even if it is only to retire in Palm Springs.
PS I can’t find the source for the Adventures Are Forever pic, if you know it, would you let me know?! xx
