Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Ellen Goodman once wrote, “Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work, driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for, in order to get to a job that you need so that you can pay for the clothes, car, and the house that you leave empty all day in order to afford to live in it.”
A few weeks ago, Jer and I were interviewed for a podcast called Keep Your Daydream and we talked quite a bit about our struggles figuring out how to live a life of passion. We knew we wanted to break away from that “normal” life Ellen talked about to begin traveling full time, but that doesn’t mean the path to it was easy or clear (or short!!). But we’ve made it work for us.
In addition to talking about designing the life we always imagined, we talked about blowing 2015’s entire budget in 3 months, having to navigate the waters of leaving home, not sure if we’d make it on the road for a week or a month, much less the 21 months we’d planned.
If you’ve ever wanted to go down the path of making your life into one giant passion project – and you totally should, living passionately, with intent and direction is, for lack of a better word, badass – listen to the Keep Your Daydream podcast, I know you’ll find someone on there who you connect with. If it’s me and Jer, great, if not, well, ya missed out. (Just kidding! But for real, go hear me talk!)
