Birthday Celebration in NYC

My friend Melissa and I travel really well together. We had the best time in Italy (and especially in Capri!) and in Palm Springs. I personally think we travel so well together because we both care about the same things: eating well and taking photos. We’re not so much concerned with a must-see list or the most popular tourist destination, we want unique shopping, aesthetically pleasing details, and lots and lots of pasta.

For Melissa’s birthday, we went up to NYC together. Our only goal was to see the CAMP: Notes on Fashion exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

While the MET itself is stunning and worth a visit, CAMP was a true whirlwind of fashion’s best and most interesting garments. We were both giddy!

We stayed at The Bowery, Melissa’s favorite hotel in NYC. They have the most delicious lemon ricotta pancakes on their room service menu, and a movie menu, so it’s basically the most wonderful little hotel ever.

A trip to NYC is nothing without plenty of shopping and some very good meals (I had next level squid ink pasta at Sant Ambroeus, and perfect oysters on the half shell at The Polo Bar).

It was a short, but very sweet, birthday celebration. Til next time New York!
